4-32-8 Minami-Magome

Ohhhhh, Mishima Yukio lived there!

YO gave me a walking tour, visiting houses and spots (literary "spots"!) in Magome Bunshi Mura (Magome Literary Village). Mishima's house is right there from YO's, which is cool!

Home Sweet Home

It's nice to be home, well, it's not actually home. "Home ground," I would say. Either way, my mission--to deliver gifts from my "host ground"--was completed today. It was also nice to see that they were happy about the gifts :)

Town of Salaryman

I never thought why Shinbashi Station has Karasunomori Exit. Shame on me! But I've happened to get an answer. Ah-ha! There is Karasunomori Shrine close to Karasunomori Exit!

Yokohama

When was the last time I came to Yokohama? Looking at familiar scenery, I realize how much I miss Yokohama. Yeah, I like this city.

Anyway, the reason why I came to Yokohama today is the Newspaper Museum. I have visited there a few times before, but I don't think I paid good attention to the collection. The historic exhibition of the museum is well organized and helpful to understand the development of newspapers. Actually, what I have learned from books (lots of books) is compactly compiled in the exhibition. That is, if you walk around in the exhibition, you don't need to spend extra hours to read to grab a overview of newspapers.

I hope the museum shop sells goods and products related to newspapers. I looked for a little gift for BF, who I will see next month. Because BF is a newspaper lover and professor, I thought he would be happy to have a souvenir related to Japanese newspapers. But the only thing that I could find was a set of postcards with images of old Japanese newspapers.

In-Flight Lottery?!

I won?! Seems like it. My boarding ticket read "atari." Because it was an early flight, I just slept and didn't realize that I "won," whatever it means. But it is true that it's fun. Though ANA has rationalized (dramatically) in-flight services, which is perfectly OK for me because I don't like cabin attendants walking back and forth the aisles throughout the flight, this kind of game element delights passengers more, I guess.

Anyway, I will ask a cabin attendant what I won in my next flight.

Airline Business

Yeah! I'm home! The humidity that you feel as soon as you get off the plane at the Kansai Airport makes me feel I'm home!

My excitement aside, I realized something in my flight. Seats have been more segmented?!

I was assigned to an Economy Plus seat that has 5 inch more space than ordinary economy seats. Only 5 inch extra space, but it made a difference.

When I left for the bathroom and walked to the rear-end of the plane, I found that half of the economy class consists of Economy Plus, and the rest economy seats. Then, I thought, this is an actual price raise because Economy Plus seats are more expensive than normal economy seats (I didn't pay extra because of a frequent flyer privilege).

Airlines are getting increasingly unfriendly to budget passengers ... mm.
